What is the Sjambok?

It is a four-foot long whip-like implement able to deliver light warning taps to an inquisitive dog or the most devastating flesh-tearing defences to a mugger. Light, flexible and very strong, a smart ‘cut’ produces extreme disabling pain but without the risk of being lethal.
It is an excellent ‘weapon’ for Personal Protection
And in particular, it is not on a prohibited list
An unusual and powerful potential weapon, few muggers can be expected to have any knowledge of it and its possibilities. None will have felt its ‘whip. Few will ever know just what hit them!
But in addition to being a legitimate article to have with you when out alone walking your dog, it is of itself a useful training tool for dog guidance and correction. A light touch is all that is needed to reinforce your commands and directions. And it may have value in discouraging other dogs from bothering yours. A walking stick might be too severe and ‘stiff’.
